What is UW-Madison’s plan for vaccinating students?

Eligibility criteria are established by the Wisconsin Department of Health Services according to guidelines from the federal Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, along with the Wisconsin State Disaster Medical Advisory Committee. The first phase of eligibility, Phase 1a, includes employees and students working directly with COVID-19 patients and those who are working directly with the virus and with virus samples. Phase 1b vaccination began on January 18, with police and fire personnel. UW–Madison is working with DHS to determine who will be eligible in later stages of vaccination and will contact individuals about eligibility. More information will be added to the UHS vaccination page as it’s available: uhs.wisc.edu/medical/covid19vaccine/.
