How long should someone stay home if they are experiencing symptoms of COVID-19?

If you have the COVID-19, you can spread the virus to others. Do not attend work or class if you are sick, especially with symptoms of COVID-19.

You should test for COVID-19 using an at-home antigen test or register for a PCR test. Both PCR and antigen testing continue to be offered at no cost to students and employees.

If you test positive for COVID-19, you should stay home at least for 5 full days and isolate from others in your home. You are likely most infectious during the first 5 days. Wear a high quality mask if you must be around others at home and in public.

If your test result is negative, you may want to consult a health care provider before returning to work or class.
