Weekly Briefing, March 18, 2021

The seven-day positivity rate is 0.1% for both employees and students. Since March 4, 47 university members have tested positive out of more than 42,000 tests; 77 tested positive the week before.

Cases continue to decline on campus and in Dane County, but community spread remains a significant concern. It is critical that all members of our community consistently follow public health requirements: test regularly; wear a two-layer (or greater), well-fitting face covering; avoid gatherings; and clean hands frequently.

All students and staff must have a green Badger Badge to enter campus buildings, except to receive a test, pursue care at University Health Services or to be vaccinated. Employees and students who are fully vaccinated against COVID-19 will no longer be required to participate in routine on-campus testing. Vaccinated individuals’ Badger Badges will remain green/Building Access Granted unless they report symptoms or test positive for COVID-19. (For individuals vaccinated off campus, this change will take effect within 5 business days after you submit your vaccination record.) All undergraduates living in central Madison who are not vaccinated must test regularly even if they do not need to enter campus buildings. Find more information on how to get tested and testing requirements.

University Health Services continues to provide COVID-19 vaccines to eligible groups, including those who perform direct patient service duties, individuals over age 65, childcare and custodial staff, and employees working on campus who have student contact.

Vaccine appointments can be made by eligible employees through their MyUHS account. To check availability and schedule an appointment, individuals should look for the following and click or tap on the word “appointment” to begin: “2. Schedule an appointment for a COVID-19 immunization.” You can also learn about vaccination efforts on campus by attending or reviewing recent town hall presentations.

Campus policies requiring wearing masks indoors, as well as outdoors except when exercising and maintaining six feet from others, remain in effect.

Starting March 19, this dashboard will no longer be updated on weekends.
